Dear All Star Families,

Thank you to all the families who joined us for Open House this past Wednesday evening. Our teachers and students were excited to showcase their classrooms and share the wonderful learning experiences that have taken place throughout the year. We truly appreciate your support!

Get ready for one of Country Springs Elementary’s most exciting and time-honored traditions—the 6th Grade Ancient Olympiad, taking place next week, May 11 through May 15!

This beloved event brings history to life as our 6th grade students step back in time to experience the spirit and culture of ancient civilizations in a fun, hands-on way.

🎉 Opening Ceremony: The Olympiad Parade

The festivities will kick off on Monday morning, May 11 @ 8am, with our traditional Olympiad Parade. Students will proudly march in their teams, marking the official start of a week filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and learning.

🏅 A Week of Competition and Collaboration

Throughout the week, teams of 6th grade students will participate in a variety of exciting events inspired by the ancient Olympic Games. These activities are designed not only to challenge students physically, but also to encourage cooperation, strategy, and school spirit.

From start to finish, students will demonstrate perseverance, sportsmanship, and pride in their teams as they earn points in each event.

👑 The Grand Finale

The week will conclude on Friday, May 15, when one team will be crowned the Ancient Olympiad Champion. It’s always an exciting moment as students celebrate their achievements and reflect on a week of hard work and fun.

📚 Learning Comes to Life

The Ancient Olympiad is more than just a competition—it’s an engaging educational experience. Through this event, students gain a deeper understanding of ancient civilizations, especially Ancient Greece, by actively participating in traditions and practices inspired by history.

💙 A Special Tradition

The Ancient Olympiad is a cherished part of the Country Springs experience, and we look forward to another memorable week for our 6th graders. Thank you for your continued support in making these meaningful learning opportunities possible!

Students in grades 3–6 are almost finished taking the California State Testing (CAASPP), and they will continue through May 15th.

Attendance is incredibly important—especially during testing. We want all students at school and on time each day so they can do their very best on their assessments. Please help us support your child’s success by planning any appointments outside of these testing windows. We do not interrupt class sessions during testing unless there is an emergency. Daily attendance and punctual arrival are essential—let’s work together to finish the year strong!

We are thrilled to announce that Country Springs Elementary has earned the #1 Attendance Award for having the best attendance among all elementary schools in the district! This outstanding achievement is a testament to our students’ dedication, our families’ support, and our staff’s commitment to making every school day count.

To celebrate this incredible accomplishment, the Chino Valley Unified School District is treating all of our students and staff to a special In-N-Out lunch on May 15, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. What a delicious way to recognize everyone’s hard work and commitment!

We are so proud of our Country Springs All Stars for showing up on time and ready to learn each day. Your effort makes a difference, and this award belongs to our entire school community.

Our 3rd grade students are excited to present their upcoming musical performance, “Vacation Time,” and we hope you can join us for this special event!

Arrival & Seating Details:

• Students should arrive in costume at 4:30 PM and head directly to their classrooms.

We kindly ask that everyone be seated before the performance begins promptly at 5:00 PM.

After the show, there will be an opportunity for families to take photos and celebrate our talented performers.

We are proud to celebrate Ailis Tsai, a talented 5th grade student, for earning 2nd place in the 2026 Jack and Jill Magazine Cover Contest!

Allis’s creativity truly shined through her imaginative artwork titled “Nature Alien,” a unique and captivating piece that highlights her artistic skill and originality. Her accomplishment is a wonderful reflection of her dedication and passion for art.

We’re excited to introduce a new system to help keep our Lost and Found organized and efficient. At the end of each month, all unclaimed items will be cleared out and donated to support families in need. This not only helps us maintain a tidy campus but also ensures that forgotten items find a second life.

To minimize the number of lost items, we kindly ask that all personal belongings—including jackets, water bottles, and lunch pails—are clearly labeled with your child’s name. Labeled items are much more likely to be returned quickly!

We also encourage parents to remind their children to check the Lost and Found regularly. As part of this new system, we’ll be incorporating student reminders at school to help build this habit.

Items were donated on April 24 , 2026. Next donation will be on May 21, 2026.

HAPPY MAY! As we wind down this school year, I am so grateful at the growth and achievements of our All Stars this school year. It is so important that our students continue to strive for personal growth and remember that every step forward is a positive one. May is full of so many fun activities, events and parties here at Country Springs and I am so excited for our students to experience all the fun. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. I am committed to supporting our students' mental health and fostering a positive, nurturing environment. Some important tips to continue to remind our students of are:

• Stay Connected: Build and maintain strong relationships with family and friends.

• Practice Self-Care: Engage in activities that you enjoy and that help you relax.

• Stay Active: Physical activity can boost your mood and overall well-being.

• Seek Help: If you're feeling overwhelmed, don't hesitate to reach out for support.

Another important topic that is so important is supporting our students with transition from school to summer. Below is some information I think can help you and your student:

As parents, it's natural to want to ensure a smooth transition for our children as they navigate this seasonal shift. Here are some strategies to support your child's transition from school to summer:

Acknowledge Emotions: The end of the school year can bring with it big emotions as children say goodbye to their teachers and regular interactions with their friends.

Maintain a Routine: Children thrive on routine and predictability. Identify a scheduled bedtime, wake-up time, mealtimes, and other predictable routines. Identify the planned routine before summer break so that your child is aware and feels in control. 

Stick to Behavioral Rules and Expectations: All children can benefit from clear expectations and being held accountable. Implement jobs and responsibilities that your child can take ownership of throughout the summer. For children with behavioral difficulties, this is extremely important. 

Encourage Learning Opportunities and Continued Growth: Trips to the library, a museum, and other locations where learning can occur will help to continue to stimulate your child’s academic growth. When establishing your summer routines, include a time for reading or researching a topic of interest. 

Encourage and Continue Social Connections: School is not only about academic learning but also a place of socialization. Provide opportunities for your child to get together with peers from school over the summer and/or meet new friends. Summer camps, pool outings, one-on-one playdates, and neighborhood gatherings are great ways to foster social opportunities. 

Balance Structure with Flexibility: Although maintaining structure is important, it is equally important to find ways to be flexible and allow for spontaneity and unstructured play. Allow your child to decide how they will spend their outdoor time, whether it is creating a fort in the backyard or lounging in the grass with a good book. Impromptu outings and activities can also be a lot of fun and help foster your child’s ability to be flexible and to go with the flow. Playing outside is so important for children and continue to monitor and minimize screen time.
