Attendance
Attendance (Absences, Tardies, Early Pick Up)
Students are expected to be at school and on time on a daily basis. Every day is an opportunity for your child to learn.
Please review the guidelines in the document attached at the bottom for when you should keep your child at home.
Our All Star staff are always excited and poised to assist our families with inquiries and services. To better serve our community and ensure that students are ready to safely exit campus at the end of their academic day, we kindly request that parents/guardians not check out their student 30 minutes prior to school dismissal. Not only do students potentially miss out on important class reminders and announcements when they are checked out early, but it also impedes staff from finalizing the learning opportunities for the day and welcoming families to campus to complete school business. We also ask that parents/guardians not check out students during recess or lunch times so our playground and lunch supervisors are able to adequately supervise all students. We appreciate your support and value your collaboration!
Excused absences include illness, doctor appointments, and family funeral services. Board policy requires that verification by email, note, or phone call must be completed WITHIN 5 SCHOOL DAYS of the student’s return to school. On the sixth day, the absence becomes unverified and cannot be changed after this date.
If you would like to request make-up work, contact your child’s teacher and they will notify you when to pick up the work.
If your child must miss school for more than five consecutive days, please contact your teacher as early as a month in advance and no later than a week prior to your planned absence to see if placing your child on Independent Study is available. Please note, students who participate in the Independent Study program will NOT be eligible for the Batting 1000 award.
To qualify for the Batting 1000 Award, a student must have no unexcused absences and have no tardies, early outs, or late pick ups each trimester. Please make every effort to schedule appointments after school dismissal, especially on minimum days.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure your child’s Emergency Contact information in the Aeries Portal is updated and accurate at all times.
