Country Springs Elementary Food Drive – Supporting Food for Life Ministry

Our amazing Country Springs Student Council is leading a heartfelt initiative to support Food for Life Ministry, and we need your help! From Wednesday, November 12 through Wednesday, November 19, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food donations to help families in need right here in our community.

Please drop off your donations in your homeroom. Every item counts and brings us closer to making a meaningful impact. Let’s come together and show the spirit of giving that makes Country Springs shine!

Thank you for your generosity!

H.I.T.S - This Week!

This week, Country Springs Elementary is proud to host its beloved annual tradition: Helping Ignite Tomorrow’s Stars (HITS). From Wednesday through Friday, students in grades 2–6 will participate in this exciting enrichment experience, while our Kindergarten and 1st grade students will enjoy HITS on Wednesday only.

HITS is more than just a break from the regular schedule—it’s a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and the diverse strengths of our students. Designed to support the development of Multiple Intelligences, the program offers a wide variety of teacher-led enrichment classes that allow students to explore new topics, apply academic skills in practical ways, and engage in higher-level thinking.

Each student has the opportunity to choose classes that spark their interest, whether it’s science experiments, creative writing, coding, soccer, volleyball, or hands-on art projects. This personalized approach encourages students to take ownership of their learning and discover new passions.

At Country Springs, HITS is a cherished tradition that reflects our commitment to nurturing the whole child. It’s a time when students shine as thinkers, creators, and collaborators—truly igniting tomorrow’s stars.

We can’t wait to see the excitement and inspiration that HITS brings to our campus this week!

Lost and Found UPDATE

We’re excited to introduce a new system to help keep our Lost and Found organized and efficient. At the end of each month, all unclaimed items will be cleared out and donated to support families in need. This not only helps us maintain a tidy campus but also ensures that forgotten items find a second life.

To minimize the number of lost items, we kindly ask that all personal belongings—including jackets, water bottles, and lunch pails—are clearly labeled with your child’s name. Labeled items are much more likely to be returned quickly!

We also encourage parents to remind their children to check the Lost and Found regularly. As part of this new system, we’ll be incorporating student reminders at school to help build this habit.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school environment organized, responsible, and sustainable!

Parent Engagement Policy & School-Parent Compacts

We believe that strong partnerships between families and schools are key to student success. To learn more about how we support parent involvement, please take a moment to review our Parent Engagement Policy and School-Parent Compacts, accessible on our school website. It outlines our commitment to fostering meaningful collaboration with families and provides helpful information on how you can stay engaged in your child's education.

Reminder: Appropriate Clothing for School and PE

As a reminder, students in grades 3–6 must wear clothing that is appropriate for both school and physical education activities. Please ensure:

  • Shorts and skirts provide adequate coverage (to middle of the thigh) and allow for active movement during PE.
  • No Crop tops are allowed.
  • Due to warm weather, a t-shirt should be worn under sweatshirts, and hoods may not be worn inside classrooms.
  • Shoes must be suitable for PE and school activities—athletic shoes are best. Crocs are not allowed for safety reasons.

Students have all been reminded. If they are not dressed appropriately for school activities they may be asked to call home for shoes or clothing that is aligned with the dress code and they also will be issued a "strike".

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and comfortable learning environment for all students.

Counselor's Corner

November is here and the holidays are upon us! This month I am so excited to celebrate our students at our Trimester Awards and to see them shine with our HITS program. This month I will be working with our students on why GRATITUDE matters and the importance of it. “It’s not happiness that brings us gratitude. It’s gratitude that brings us happiness.” (Anonymous) The positive actions that come with being grateful are important for our students to know. Gratitude creates positive connections and increases the quality of relationships. Students will have opportunities to express gratitude and receive it also. November is a great time of year to tell someone you appreciate them. Some benefits of gratitude include increased happiness, stronger self control, deeper connections and enhanced well-being. Thursday November 13th is World Kindness Day and I am so excited for a fun filled activity I have planned for the students that day! Something fun that you can do with your students this month is The Family Gratitude (Skittles) Game which consists of 1. Use Skittles or something that is colorful (ex: straws) 2. Pick up at least 5 Skittles (you can use any number) 3. For each color picked up, share what you are thankful for. a. Red = Name a person you are thankful for b. Orange = Name a place you are thankful for c. Yellow = Name a food you are thankful for d. Green = Name a thing you are thankful for e. Purple = Name anything you are thankful for. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I am so grateful to be able to work with your All Stars everyday!

Morning Procedures and Parking Lot Etiquette

Please be sure to follow our pick up and drop off expectations to keep our All Stars safe! We appreciate your patience in waiting to drop off and pick up your child; please be courteous to one another and the staff out on duty. All drivers must remain in their cars.

For safety reasons, please use cross-walks and sidewalks only. Do not cross the driveways.
